Wild Flower Zones
Across Crossways Business Park, selected areas are allowed to grow naturally, creating vibrant wildflower zones that support local wildlife. These areas not only enhance the visual appeal of the park but also play an important ecological role — providing vital habitats for insects, which form the foundation of the wider food chain.
With around 60% of flying insects lost in the UK over the last 20 years, largely due to habitat reduction, these zones play a small but meaningful part in supporting ecological balance.
By encouraging biodiversity and maintaining a balance between managed landscaping and natural growth, the estate supports a thriving environment that benefits both nature and the people who work here.
Wildlife
The lakes and green spaces across Crossways Business Park provide a welcoming habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. Visitors can often see groups of geese, swans with their young, Egyptian geese, moorhens, and ducks enjoying the water and open spaces.
The lakes themselves are home to healthy fish populations, including species such as carp and tench, while the surrounding vegetation supports smaller animals like water voles and insects. Kingfishers, herons, and egrets are also spotted from time to time, drawn to the lakes and waterways.
